About Ann

Ann is an award winning artist and a teacher with over 25 years  of experience, holding an Associate Dip. Fine Arts.

Currently, Ann views her style of art as “representational with a contemporary edge” and due to her interest in experimentation, works in a diverse range of mediums, which include Oils, Pastels, Acrylics and various drawing mediums.

Ann is a dedicated teacher with a philosophy that a sound foundation and understanding of materials and fundamental techniques will assist in the freedom to develop independent creativity

Primarily a studio painter, Ann periodically enjoys the opportunity to escape the confines of the studio for three or four days to paint plein air with a group of like-minded women, fondly dubbed 'The Plein Air Girls.  Ann's work has appeared in several issues of The AUSTRALIAN ARTIST MAGAZINE featuring articles  about The Plein Air Girls' adventures.

Another group, with which Ann is actively connected, is the 5 Land Artists Collective Inc., which is a non-profit group of over 30 visual, performing and literary artists located on the Central Coast of NSW. This group, in addition to presenting performances and exhibitions, is responsible for the creation and organization of the annual award winning community event, 'The 5 Lands Walk'

The Collective also initiated an exciting Art Trail, '5 Lands Art Studios',  in 2012, where art lovers can meet the artists and see their studios first hand three times a year, the first weekend in March and November and during the 5 Lands Walk.    5 lands artstudios  and  5 lands walk

Ann’s 'Restless Painter's Studio', where she conducts classes and workshops, is located at the rear of her home in the seaside village of Avoca Beach on the NSW Central Coast of Australia. This area, with it’s abundance of diverse landscapes of ocean, lakes, farmland, rugged mountains and rainforests, provides Ann with endless inspiration.
